THE Riverland’s inaugural Light the Night event will next month remember, celebrate and give hope to patients and families living with leukaemias, lymphomas and myeloma. The event’s three Riverland ambassadors tell their story. WHAT IS LIGHT THE NIGHT? IN only its second year, its first in the Riverland, Light the Night is a major fundraiser for the Leukaemia Foundation. The fundraising culminates in a community event on the Renmark riverfront with live entertainment and a walk around the block with brightly lit balloons. Fundraising teams can be registered at www.lightthenight.com.au or individuals can also join existing teams. Date: Wednesday, September 8. Where: Renmark riverfront. Schedule of events 5.30pm: Registration opens 6pm: Official welcome. 6.05pm: On stage entertainment. 6.45pm: Balloon raising ceremony. 7pm: Light the Night walk. 8.30pm: Official close. Facilities Food and drinks available. Public amenities. Parking is free on Murray Avenue. Gold Ambassador Warren Falting LOXTON’S Warren Falting will be lighting a gold balloon at Light the Night in memory of his father Laurie.
